Pizzoli joins Baldolini in expanded Race Department ATK#25 squad

Teenage Italian Davide Pizzoli will join Alex Baldolini in an expanded two rider Race Department ATK#25 squad in 2017. The Italian duo will line up on a full grid of World Supersport rivals aboard an MV Agusta F3 675 - running numbers 7 and 25 respectively.

Pizzoli makes his World Supersport debut following successes in the Moto3 FIM CEV Repsol International Championship and several wildcard appearances in the World Championship.

Baldolini returns for another assault on the World stage. The likeable Italian hopes to build on several front running performances last year with podium challenges the immediate goal.

Both riders are keen to give 100% both on and off track, with Pizzoli excited to see what the Paddock Show is all about having heard so many good things from Baldo and those he knows within the WorldSBK paddock.

Davide Pizzoli #7: “ I’m very happy to become part of Race Department ATK#25. I hope to adapt quickly to the new bike and the new team since. I can't wait to take part in World Supersport and I will do my best every race weekend to gain experience, score points and I will try to reach the leading positions as quickly as I can. There will be many new circuits but I believe in the team and Alex and am ready for the challenge."

Alex Baldolini #25: This will be the third season with my team and we have a really nice project for 2017. I’m very glad to have young Italian talent Davide Pizzoli in our box. Since 2002 I’ve been racing at world championship level and I think The team and I will be able to help Davide to adapt to the MV fast. I’m very confident for the new season - this year I’ve been really competitive but unfortunately the injury on the scaphoid took me out of action in the last two European rounds. I went to Qatar without knowing whether I would race but I could and even though I had a lot of pain in my hand I was fast in every practice and I also lead the race for one lap. Testing begins shortly after new year and then we head off in early February to Australia.
