Baldo in Podium Fight At Phillip Island, Finishes 6th

The first World Supersport race of 2016 was an epic battle with many overtakes and amazing start to finish battling from start to finish which had the fans on their feet. Qualifying strongly on the second row, Alex started well and was on the leading group from the beginning, holding fifth position until the very end, just missing out on 2nd on the final lap when he dropped to 6th after he was hit by another rider which forced him wide. Fortunately Alex was able to cling on to 6th position claiming 10 points and the accolade of being the first MV Agusta rider to finish.

Understandably angry because of the last lap incident the Australian race has given Baldolini a lot of confidence and optimism for the rest of the season and he can't wait to ride again.

The second round of the series is in a fortnight at the Chang International circuit, Thailand with Alex and the Race Department Atk#25 ready to fight again.

Alex Baldolini - 6th: “It's been a good race and a solid start to the year. I started well and was always in the middle of the action. Some riders had problems, others crashed just ahead of me which forced me to lose some time, however, I was always able to catch the front group again. I was getting ready to attack and I was sure I could finish at least 4th, or maybe even third, when unfortunately Gamarino went into me and I was forced to go wide losing some positions and precious time. Luckily I managed not to fall, and was 6th at the flag. It's a good start for the season even if I'm not completely satisfied.”
