Phillip Island, Race: Baldolini Shows Front Running Pace In World Supersport Opener, Pizzoli crashes
Alex Baldolini (13th): "I'm really angry, in the first crash it was my fault but not in the second one. I saw Jules bike coming into me and i tried to avoid the bike losing less time but i lost the front and with this the podium I am sure I would have got. I gave everything i had and I battled in the correct way during all the race but I recieved overtakings which where not 100% correct and I lost some positions. However, I could always overtake again and go back to the first three positions. It's a pity all our work ended up like this, we deserved the podium. We worked so hard during the tests and even yesterday to find a good setting for our new Bitubo suspensions and we really find a good one for the race. My bike was just perfect and I knew a win was possible. I have to keep in mind the positive things from that race: I know the red flag helped me and I had a second chance after my mistake while I was leading the race. I really thank all the people of my team that had worked so much during this week in Australia and I had my bike fixed in a few minutes. I really wish to pay back all this effort as soon as possible, my crew deserves it. See you in Thailand!"
Davide Pizzoli (DNF): "I did a good start on the first race and I was 15th but unfortunately the race was redflagged and we had to come back to the pits. In the second start I did it better than in the first one and I was within the group but due to the bad grip to which I'm not yet use to I started to have problems with the front and after three laps I crashed. It's the first race of the championship and there are 11 to go to do a better job, improve and gain experience."
